Mosaic Returns to Nordea Bank

Nordea Bank recently installed a wall mosaic by Helle Scharling Todd, in their offices in Rudkøbing. The mosaic, which originally hung in the town's previous bank, was removed due to construction. As the mosaic is an important part of Langeland's heritage, Nordea decided that the mosaic belonged in the town's bank, and requested its return.

The mosaic's seven panels represent a day on the island, from sunrise to sunset, and was inspired by a poem by the Danish poet and writer, Frank Jæger, titled, The Langeland Septet. The artist had the opportunity to discuss the work with the poet, before its original inauguration in 1967.
